Commit to calm and cozy

If you’re a decorating kook like me, you know the list of to-do-nexts never ends. It seems like an endless cycle of decorating and redecorating, we go from one Pinterest project to the next Pottery Barn sale.  And while all this is all generally enjoyable, I ask myself, what’s the point of working so hard at creating a beautiful home if you aren’t enjoying it?

I admit that I’m guilty of this all too often.  I tend to see the flaws in my home and the ever present still-to-do project list taunts me. In the New Year I intend to enjoy the beautiful things I do have and relish in the projects already completed.  As a matter of fact, I’m so committed to this I’m starting TODAY, even though it’s still the “old” year.

I will sit on my comfortable couch and snuggle with my furry pets and my slightly less furry children and I will not feel guilty for not “DOING”.

I will allow my home to be my sanctuary, not my slave driver.

I will commit myself to cozy and calm, but I WILL NOT add it to my to-do list!

Here are some simple cozy items to “inspire” you to join me, but no need to stress... I’m sure what you already have will work perfectly!
