Mother's Day is just around the corner and you still don't have a gift!
Don't deny it. Don't panic. YOU CAN do this.
Don't get me wrong, flowers, jewelry, perfume, err...wine are all good options. But if you want to give her something she'll still remember next Mother's Day, READ ON.
Canvas from any art or hobby store
Muslin or light linen fabric
Light iron on transfer paper for your printer
Image that you want to transfer
It's here where I have to apologize for not having step-by-step pictures, but this is so simple that you won't even need them. TRUST ME.
- Cut fabric longer and wider than your canvas so that you can wrap it around the back.
- Following the directions on the transfer paper package print out either a black and white or color image and iron on the center of your fabric. (I like b&w because it gives the finished canvas a vintage-y feel) Make sure that you print the image at a size that is smaller than the canvas so that the fabric frame looks like a photo mat.
- After transferring your image, tightly wrap the fabric around the canvas (folding at the corners) and staple or hot glue.
- Try using several different pictures on different size canvases to make a photo gallery. Or add your children's hand prints around the edge of the picture.
